Roxana G.
Roxana is an absolute star! We have an sweet autistic child with many care needs and a VERY difficult insurance and Roxy regularly goes out of her way to help us! She always listens, is very kind and always finds a way that my sweetie gets his needs met. This lady is incredibly smart, kind, resilient and helpful and an absolute asset to any department!!! Congratulations, UCLA! She is a GEM!!

Linda Z.
Linda is the epitome of what a great employee and human being should be. She is knowledgeable, efficient and always follows up. She is kind and caring and made the experience of a hip replacement much smoother and facilitated my every need and answered all my questions. She is the most professional healthcare staff member that I have encountered in my +40 years with UCLA Health.

Maritza A.
I've been experiencing numerous issues with my spine, which have inevitably affected nerves throughout my body. Seeking a second opinion to ensure nothing was overlooked proved challenging, as I had to navigate around doctors who seemed reluctant to engage. This led me to make several calls.
My first attempt was to the assistant of the initial doctor I consulted. Unfortunately, this interaction was unpleasant and left me with no clear path to obtain a second opinion. Undeterred, I contacted UCLA's general spine department, where I was fortunate enough to speak with Maritza.
Unlike the first attempt, Maritza's approach was extraordinary. Instead of being merely efficient and detached, her tone of voice conveyed genuine care and empathy. I sensed she understood my pain and frustration in trying to navigate the healthcare system. Her willingness to help to the fullest extent possible was truly remarkable.
I could not have been more grateful for Martiza's assistance. I truly wish all patients could have someone like her on the other end of the line. Thanks to her swift action and support, I was able to schedule that crucial second opinion within just one hour.

Had a mamogram Sunday. If this were a personality contest, Gina would be rewarded Miss Congeniality. My appointment went very well and she was hands down the best technician I've ever had. Would highly recommend this location. Manhattan Beach location.

Jennifer B.
Dr. Jennifer Baker was an extraordinary doctor and surgeon who put my mind at ease before a very scary emotional surgery. She took time to answer all my questions and her demeanor and compassion and expertise took away a lot of my fears. My surgery had zero complications and I am thrilled with the results. I am forever grateful to Dr. Baker as well as Sally and her entire staff.

Anna P.
Anna is truly such a caring and hardworking person. She always goes out of her way to make sure that as many kids as possible are able to visit the Zone and have a safe, fun experience. She is very communicative with the volunteers and is very good at teaching them all the right protocol to make sure the Zone stays clean and safe. She works after hours constantly to make sure the Zone is clean and organized every night. She is such an anchor to families in the hospital, as she knows all of the children and families by name and is a friendly face they can rely on during their time in the hospital.

Anna P.
Words really cannot describe all of the time, effort, energy, and passion Anna dedicates to ensuring the Child Life Zone playroom is optimally functioning and fun for patients. Anna truly works overtime to keep the Zone functioning. There have been countless times she stays after the playroom closes to continue working. She also puts in extra time to host orientations and trainings to allow more students to gain experience, and most importantly, to ensure that there continues to be new volunteers to play with and care for the patients. I think anyone who has interacted with Anna for over 5 minutes can tell how much she cares for both the patients and all of the volunteers. The Zone truly wouldn't be what it is (or literally function) without Anna.
Anna, we recognize all that you do for us (the volunteers) and the patients!! We are so grateful for you--thank you for all of your hard work and so much more.

QiShara N.
QiShara was the kindest, most thorough, most empathetic nurse I have ever had--and I have had the procedure I was in for 4x annually for the last ten years. She followed up with me, was the kindest presence to wake up to, completely understanding how painful my condition is, and knew what resources were at her disposal to make recovery easier for me. The quote "competence without compassion is incomplete" comes to mind, because QiShara was SO COMPLETE. Competent, compassionate, and a kind soul. Please know she's an incredible asset to UCLA and part of the reason I hold you in such high esteem. You've blown other major institutions out of the water with respect to care, expertise, and genuine kindness. QiShara and folks like her are the heart of that. Please pass along my highest commendation to QiShara and her managers.

Joy S.
Joy is the daytime nurse providing care to my wife. We have been in ICU and my wife has had several rough nights. After having the worst night in her stay, Joy's compassion, empathy, and nursing skills were extremely welcome. She went beyond her duty to make my wife feel loved and appreciated. Joy is a wonderful nurse but an even better human being.

Gladys R.
I want to first say I am super grateful for all hospital staff that has taken care of me, but most importantly I'm grateful for my nurse, Gladys. She went above and beyond for me and made me feel safe. I was expecting to go home but I felt ill and didn't feel good. She made sure I was taken care of and advocated for me and made sure I was okay. I can't thank her enough and for her attentive, compassionate care. I felt safe being taken care by her. UCLA is lucky to have such a good caring and well knowledgeable nurse

Amanda A.
I would like to acknowledge how grateful I am to have had Amanda as my son's dietitian. My son is a cardiac patient who has been hospitalized for 6 months. Without any knowledge of his diet needs or goals, Amanda provided us with every resource that would help him thrive. She would give us feedback from different teams each week, communicate if there was a problem with dietary restrictions, provide answers to combat malnourishment, listen to understand our concerns and advocate for the best plan that works the best for our son. She excels beyond her title. Thank you, Amanda! We are going to miss you!

I underwent robotic prostatectomy for cancer and the care I received was unparalleled. Every provider at every level was caring. I felt safe in their hands. As a physician myself, I know the sacrifices made to bring this advanced level of care to patients. I am humbled with gratitude for the exceptional care I received.

Alicia M.
I am writing to express my profound gratitude for the impeccable service I received from your employee, Alicia. Over the past several months, I have been navigating a challenging situation with patient business services since October, and Alicia's intervention has been a beacon of hope in what has been an otherwise frustrating experience. Throughout my interactions with business services, I encountered numerous obstacles and a persistent lack of resolution. Despite months of back-and-forth communication, my issues remained unresolved, and I was often passed from one representative to another, each placing the blame elsewhere. This only added to the immense stress I was already under, caring for a loved one who is frequently in and out of the hospital. When I reached out once more, feeling on the verge of a breakdown, Alicia answered the phone. Her calm and reassuring demeanor was exactly what I needed. Alicia listened to my concerns with understanding and compassion and took immediate steps to address the situation. She demonstrated exceptional intelligence and common sense, swiftly identifying and correcting the issue that had eluded resolution for so long. Alicia's dedication and empathy were a true gift. In a field where patients and their families are already carrying significant mental and emotional burdens, her ability to offer support and effective solutions is invaluable. Alicia stands out as a shining example of what patient business services should strive to be--compassionate, proactive, and committed to genuinely helping those in need. While I have encountered many challenges with the broader system, Alicia's efforts have restored my faith in your department. It is crucial to acknowledge and celebrate employees like Alicia, who go above and beyond to provide exceptional service. Her pride in her work and her heartfelt compassion for others make her an invaluable asset to your team and a hero to those she assists. I hope you can convey my deep appreciation to Alicia for her diligent work and for being a source of hope and relief during a very difficult time. Her contributions are not only a testament to her character but also to the values that UCLA should uphold. Thank you for your time, and please extend my sincere gratitude to Alicia for her outstanding service.

Adarsh M. T.
After struggling with complications for 10+ years with cancer, multiple surgeries, chemo, and Radiation, I finally found UCLA's care team. I've seen over 100 doctors for my issues and never got any results, cure, or relief. Yesterday I had my enteroscopy with Dr. Adarsh Thacker and let me just say how incredible, smart, and understanding doctor he is. I am so happy I finally got to ucla. I am finally hopeful again, after giving up on our health system. UCLA doctors and the team do REALLY care. I highly recommend ucla. Don't believe negative reviews because they had one bad experience. I had 100 bad experiences and I am telling you trust UCLA and all the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff. Thank you Dr Thacker for treating me so well and putting my mind at ease.

I have been a cancer patient for over 10 years now. I have seen over 100 doctors. I have a lot of GI complications after chemo and radiation. No doctor knew what to do with me and some doctors didn't even believe me. I finally got to UCLA. And let me just say, I have never EVER been treated this good. Finally, I found a care team, especially Dr. Benjamin Nulsen that believed me and he has been on top of everything. I gave up hope before, but now I am hopeful again. He is the best doctor I've ever met, he listens to your concerns, even if it takes an hour. He responds fast to your messages. I am extremely happy. I highly recommend Ucla and Dr Nulsen. Thank you Doc and UCLA staff for being so nice and understanding.

Russell J.
I participated in the ANCHOR clinical trial with Dr. Russell Johnson as my primary caregiver. He was simply amazing! His bedside manner was the absolute best. He was friendly, informative, and professional. He explained the procedures, the methodology, and the results. I could not have asked for a nicer, more caring doctor. Thanks, Dr. Johnson, for making my multiple visits to UCLA a memorable, positive experience!!!
