Funding Opportunities
Intramural Funding
The UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center facilitates multiple intramural funding programs, including for seed grant, tumor specific projects, fellowships, and more. To administer these funding programs, we've established an online funding resource, called InfoReady, where you can learn about the different opportunities available to you, as well as download and submit applications
To access the InfoReady portal, please click on the button below.
Extramural Limited Submission Funding Opportunities
Below is a list of limited extramural funding opportunities that are provided as a courtesy to UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center members. For an opportunity to be included on this list, it must be a Limited Submission Opportunity (LSO) and applications are supported administratively by the Cancer Center's Grants Facilitation Team. Submission instructions are noted below. If you have any questions about a specific LSO listed below, please contact Sarah Anwar via email.
Listings are generally updated on a bimonthly basis. Entries are ordered by posting date, with most recent postings first. Opportunities are removed from this list once their final application due date has passed.

NCCN Foundation 2025 Young Investigator Award (YIA) Program
Through its Young Investigator Award (YIA) Program, the NCCN Foundation invites proposals from young investigators with innovative ideas and an interest in improving the quality, effectiveness, equity, and accessibility of care provided to patients with cancer. A primary focus of the NCCN Foundation YIA Program is to identify and fund top investigators in the early stages of their careers interested in participating and contributing to cancer research. On average, four to seven grants are awarded per year.
The awards provide two-year grants of $150,000 for research expenses to promising young investigators across a broad range of oncology specialties and areas of interest. The award may be used to fund salary and benefits of the grant recipient, postdoctoral or clinical research fellows and/or research assistants, data collection and entry, patient costs, analysis, computer costs, necessary purchased services, surveys, and supplies. Within the total budget of $150,000, indirect expenses will be covered to a maximum of 8%. The award may include funds up to $3,000 for IRB review and continuing review. In addition to the $150,000 award, a separate administrative allowance of up to $575 will be provided for travel, lodging, and registration expenses to attend the 2028 NCCN Annual Conference. Attendance at the NCCN Annual Conference is mandatory in order for the awardees to present their research results at the General Poster Session.

NCI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Fellow Transition Award
The purpose of the NCI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Fellow Transition Award (F99/K00) is to encourage and retain outstanding graduate students recognized by their institutions for their high potential and strong interest in pursuing careers as independent cancer researchers. The award will facilitate the transition of talented graduate students into successful cancer research postdoctoral appointments and provide opportunities for career development activities relevant to their long-term career goals of becoming independent cancer researchers. The F99/K00 award is intended for individuals who require 1-2 years to complete their Ph.D. dissertation research training (F99 phase) before transitioning to mentored postdoctoral research training (K00 phase). Consequently, applicants are expected to propose an individualized research training plan for the next 1-2 years of dissertation research training and a plan for 3-4 years of mentored postdoctoral research and career development activities that will prepare them for independent cancer-focused research careers.
